Mercruiser Water Pressure Sensor Fault. 19 overspeed rpm limit engine over rpm limit Mercruiser alarms and fault codes applies to mercruiser engines with pcm 555, including 496 mag and 8.1s.
One of the sensors is not functioning correctly. The water pressure sensors on these engines can cause issues. Ran flawlessly up to 200hrs,,got around 240hrs now with an annoying warning 'overspeed throttle back' massage on the port engine only.water pressure, water temp, oil pressure all indicate identical on both smartcraft gauges tried swapping the ecm 555's and the problem stays with.
The engine started to surge a month ago. The gauges will stay on as long as the ignition is on. In some cases the small opening where the hose goes into the electronic sensor gets plugged.
Also in there is exhaust manifold temperature. I have replaced a number of faulty water pressure sensors.
I can use some help with my 7.4 mpi mercruiser. Get it as soon as thu, oct 21. Adjusts the brightness and contrast of the gauge.
But you will need to have the engine checked with a computer to verify that the water pressure sensor is the issue. Water pump may be faulty. Alarm would stop within about 5 seconds.
The electrical system is not charging or the battery charge is low. Universal fault codes can be utilized with specific outboard and mercruiser products produced 2015 and newer. “pwr limit” = percentage of power available (may be limited by engine guardian).
